This song always makes me think about their dances; it gives so much energy.

Not sure "Opera" is included in "Music." Beautiful, regardless.
Caruso is also good. Unfortunately the audience cannot contain their excitement, but I enjoy the instrumental version better than what sounds like a studio electronic one:

What amazes me about the Georgians is their synchronicity in voices, the harmony; and not just a few artists, but the common Georgian men and women - even when walking and the steps vibrating into your body, they keep their voices pure and keep the harmonious vocal vibrations in tone.

Yesterday, after class, I was invited by my teacher to visit a concert in remembrance of Takis Sideris, whom I sadly did not know as he seemed to have been a great man.

Pretty like the throat of a pheasant A woman stepped out atop a mountain. She smiles at me temptingly, casting a twilight over my eyes.
I wonder why, if you have a husband, Does he send you to fetch water alone? If you'll be mine, pretty girl, I won't let you from my arms. x2
I won't let anyone have you, I swear by this sun of mine. I'll lay down my life for you, I'll shatter the enemy's ranks for you.
I'm not asking you for much, listen, to my heart's moaning. Come to me tonight, I'll tell you many stories. x2
When I'll see you fast asleep, o woman with the eyes of a deer's fawn, I won't be able to come close to you, lest I disturb your heartbeat.
I'll just look upon you, sleeping, So I can quietly call to you. May I ask you with a whisper What you're dreaming of, o woman with wings? x2
I wonder why, if you have a husband, Does he send you to fetch water alone? If you'll be mine, pretty girl, I won't let you from my arms. x2

War dance, from the area Pontos, norther Turkey, on the coast of the Black sea. They were forced to leave their lands after the population exchanges following the Asia Minor War...Dorian...

Celebrating death, as all lovers of life can do...
Mantinades...a Cretan aphoristic poetic form...definitely Dorian...the talent in encompassing complex concept in a verse: Laconizein.
Usually sung by older men...notice how the verse introduces a concept, the rest affirm it by repeating it back, and then the one who introduced it brings it to its climax...expressing sorrow, loss, longing...the burdens of weather faces and ancient spirits...

Such atmosphere, present in all nations whom practice these kind of strong folk dance and thus as well poem recitations, is something I miss in, not just the West, specifically the Netherlands. The atmoshpere here, they call ''gezelligheid'', but really are some drunk people without any (self-given) meaning, hedonism at max during ''carnival''. And during a celebration of life (birthday), only some loud talk and sitting in front of a table full of snacks, if only the weather would be good..
Each person I meet here with a mind above average feels him/herself entrapped in this land; with the exception of those Dutch themselves, though many are migrating.

It's the added element of temproal depth. What you describe is shallow hedonism - a momentary inebriation and surrender to inner forces - inhibitions lost.
The atmosphere in the vids is one of connecting to a past, and drawing from it imagery, wisdom, inspiration. The alcohol serves as the un-inhibitor to allow this connection to happen. Those with no strong sense of self can never relate to the feeling. The entire past flows through you, in you, out of you, and you become its willing conduit. A form of possession, only there is no magic, no beyond. There is you, representing this past, tapping into what is inside of you. Your ego returns back to its source, and there it finds its table mates. The feeling is spiritual. The music is the rhythm around which the shared wisdom will flow in rhyme. A predecessor to RAP, with none of that shallow "bling", "look at me and how great I am", "look at how many women I have sex with". The identifiers are deeper, more profound.

"The traditional song "Mesečina (Moonlight)" is originally from Kosovo and Metohia, the region Kriva reka. This love song is about Stojan from Kriva reka, who steals beautiful girl Smiljana. Stealing and taking girl away from parents home is an old, Serbian custom and very common motif in folks poems."

"A medley of traditional songs "Kad Lijevčansko žito zatalasa (When Lijevce fields stir)" is originally from the Republic of Srpska, the region Lijevce polje. Research of traditional dance and song in Lijevče polje was conducted in year 2008. The music video for this song is mostly recorded in Lijevče fields and it contains some of Serbian customs and rituals, like making a bread, gathering of peasants for work, mowing wheat."
